The Fraser Coast is home to an amazing variety of wildlife, particularly birds. This beautiful region, which includes Fraser Island, Great Sandy Strait Ramsar sites, the Mary, Burrum and Cherwell Rivers, freshwater wetlands and a broad range of ecosystems, boasts over 280 different bird species. Of these, 24 are listed as Vulnerable or Endangered, making their presence here even more important.
